Established in 2001, Guidera O'Connor is a privately owned and respected Design and Construct contractor and have a successful track record delivering Water and Wastewater treatment projects to the Australian Water Industry. Our clients include SA Water, Water Corporation, Sydney Water and SEQ Water. 

About the Role: 

We are opening an Expression of Interest for an Undergraduate Mechanical or Chemical Engineer who is looking for an Internship in the Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Industry.  

Our Engineering Cohort are responsible for carrying out end to end process design activities for a range of specialised complex water projects, ensuring that all design, drafting, and close out documentation is completed accurately, cost effectively and in a timely manner. As an Undergraduate Mechanical or Chemical Engineer, you would learn and build your competency in all these areas. 

More specifically you will: 

  • Assist Design Managers to deliver projects in a safe and environmentally sound manner  
  • Ensure that work is completed in accordance with project specification requirements.  
  • Carry out design activities for projects as required  
  • Complete project related activities within time schedules  
  • Assist the Design Manager in the preparation of project documentation 
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with staff, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors 

About you: 

As our ideal candidate, you will: 

  • Be undertaking a Bachelor of Mechanical or Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree 
  • Be organised, decisive, proactive, and determined in setting and achieving targets 
  • Be able to build strong and collaborative relationships 
  • Have Intermediate skills in Microsoft office including Sharepoint, Outlook, Word, Excel 
  • Have an ability to work in Australia without any restrictions 
  • An ability to work for a three month period starting in November 2024
