Procurement Officer - SA - Thebarton

About the Role:
Guidera O’Connor are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our growing team. This role supports the delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Australia. 

As the Procurement Officer you will utilise your experience to work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and suppliers to efficiently and competitively source goods and services and in line with project requirements and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the project teams to plan for the procurement of the goods and services required to meet project requirements
  • Manage the procurement process (with input from project managers and subject matter experts) from acquisition planning to contract execution, including development of procurement strategies, evaluation of bids, analysis of costs, clarifications and contract negotiations 
  • Offer strategies and solutions to project teams to ensure supplier costs and delivery times are managed effectively and work closely with project teams to mitigate supplier or supply chain risks.
  • Monitor the use of purchase orders by project teams to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Provide pre-contracts support in obtaining supplier quotes for estimating purposes in bid responses
  • Work with contract administrators to ensure that Head Contract terms and conditions are reflected in supplier contracts where appropriate, and risks are reasonably allocated.

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of procurement principles
  • Procurement, purchasing or supply chain experience in a similar industry, preferably water.
  • Solid analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills with excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to ethical procurement practices.
  • A MCIPs qualification is desirable
